Pembroke Magazine accepts online submissions between September 1 and March 31. During September only, submissions are free! At other times, a $3 fee applies to support the magazine's operation expenses.
Response time is usually within two to four months. If after four months you have not heard back regarding your submission, you may query the editor. Please only submit one category at a time, and wait until you receive a response on a submission before sending more work.
Unsolicited email submissions are not accepted. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please notify the editor immediately if your work is selected for publication elsewhere. All submissions must be properly formatted and accompanied by a brief cover letter.
Rights revert to the author upon publication, and payment is two contributor’s copies.
For flash fiction and flash creative nonfiction, you may upload up to three pieces per submission. For standard-length creative nonfiction and fiction (up to 7,500 words), please upload only one piece per submission. Poets may submit up to three pieces.
